Angie Merriken

Angie MerrikenBefore teaching yoga, Angie worked as a middle school science teacher, outdoor educator, and even tracked elk in Jackson Hole and worked on historic boats in Chesapeake Bay.  She started practicing yoga in 2001 as a way to alleviate some sleep and back issues and soon realized yoga’s benefits overall- uplifting in mind, body, and soul. Angie completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Pam Schulte of Just Practice Yoga in 2008 and has additional training in prenatal and kids yoga. Her open level classes are vinyasa (flow) based with some restorative aspects, and her prenatal classes are slower paced and gentle. She loves witnessing students have that “aha” moment when practicing and encourages them to realize that anyone can do yoga anywhere.   When Angie isn’t teaching and working toward her second Bachelor’s degree (this time in nursing), you’ll find her spending time in nature with her husband, Will, children, Quilla and Rolli, and dog, Walker and fitting in some running and reading.
